Air Freight vs. Ocean Freight

Once your cigars are ready to ship, one of the main logistical decisions is how they should travel. For international shipments from the Dominican Republic, the two principal options are: Air Freight or Temperature-Controlled Ocean Freight Air freight is considerably faster and, particularly on shorter routes or smaller shipments, can be more economical than many customers expect. Ocean freight becomes increasingly attractive as shipment volume grows and a refrigerated container can be efficiently utilized. The right choice therefore depends on the quantity, packaging, weight, volume, destination, urgency, and ultimately the transportation cost per cigar.
