Anatomy of a Premium Handmade Cigar

A premium handmade cigar may look simple from the outside, but its construction is carefully organized. At its core are three tobacco components—filler, binder, and wrapper. Around those components are the physical parts of the finished cigar: the head, cap, shoulder, body, and foot. Understanding these terms makes it much easier to understand almost everything else about cigars, from blending and construction to draw, combustion, vitolas, and quality control.
