From Design Approval to Production

Once the packaging design and production artwork have been finalized, the project moves from design into manufacturing. This is an important transition. Until this point, changes can usually be made relatively easily. Once printing plates, foil dies, embossing tools, cutting dies, or other production tooling are created—and especially once production begins—changes become more difficult, expensive, and time-consuming. That is why final approval should mean exactly that: The design, dimensions, information, colors, and production specifications are ready to manufacture.
