Materials, Printing & Finishes
Once the packaging structure and design direction are established, materials and finishes determine how that design becomes a physical object. Paper can feel smooth or textured. Gold can be printed as an ink or applied as reflective foil. A logo can remain flat, rise from the surface through embossing, or be pressed into it through debossing. These choices can dramatically change how packaging looks and feels. But more finishing does not automatically mean more premium. The objective is to use materials and techniques that strengthen the design—not simply to use as many as possible.
