Production Planning & Lead Times

One of the first questions after placing a production order is usually: “When will my cigars be ready?” There is no single production lead time that applies to every cigar or every order. A handmade cigar factory is not an automated production line where increasing a machine setting immediately increases output. Production depends on tobacco, skilled people, cigar complexity, quantity, factory capacity, resting time, quality control, and packaging readiness. Understanding these factors makes production planning much more predictable.
