Understanding Flavor Profiles
One of the most fascinating aspects of premium handmade cigars is the variety of flavors and aromas that natural tobacco can produce. A cigar may suggest cedar, coffee, cocoa, nuts, earth, pepper, sweetness, or dozens of other impressions. Some cigars remain relatively consistent throughout the smoke, while others change noticeably from beginning to end. Together, these characteristics form what is commonly called the cigar's flavor profile. Understanding flavor does not require an extraordinary palate or the ability to identify dozens of tasting notes. It begins with learning how to describe the overall smoking experience.
